Many of the most tragic tales are hidden behind a career that is dazzling. A winner of both the USA and World Championships in the event of a hurdle, Lolo Jones has reached her current position after a lot of struggle and immense patience. Jones was born into a single mother with five children in poverty and hardship as a youngster, experienced an extremely difficult early life. She lived with her mother in a basement church and was always moving around. Jones needed to go to a new high school each year because of her nomadic background. Jones needed to be separated from mother in Theodore Roosevelt School to follow her passion for track. Her family was split up throughout high school, so that she was focused on her studies. Jones, a cellist in the school's orchestra as well as the winner of the Gatorade Track and Field Iowa athlete of the year was awarded an award called the Gatorade Iowa Athlete Award at the conclusion of her high school career.
