Tessa Thompson

The actress Tessa Lynn Thompson was born on October 3, 1983, in Los Angeles, California. The actress is the daughter the singer and songwriter Marc Anthony Thompson and the grandchild of musician-actor Bobby Ramos. She grew up within Los Angeles before moving to Brooklyn, New York. Her father is Afro-Panamanian in family and her mother is from Mexican as well as British Isles heritage. Thompson studied at Santa Monica High School where she was a part of numerous theatre productions. Thompson enrolled at Santa Monica College after graduation and earned a cultural Anthropology degree. As Juliet, she portrayed William Shakespeare's play "Romeo as well as Juliet", in the Pasadena California production at the Boston Court Theatre.
